SWEENEY RUSH PRO MOD INAUGURAL “WEEKLY SERIES” POINT FUND GROWS TO $15,020; RULES PACKAGE RELEASED

January 16, 2016       FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Pulaski, PA)…Just a little over four weeks ago the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Racing Series powered by Pace Performance announced the development of the new RUSH Pro Mod division.  The RUSH Pro Mods, an E-Mod style car, will also feature the GM 604 & GM 602 crate engine as do RUSH’s sister divisions, Late Models, Sportsman Modifieds,(602s only), and Pro Stocks.  Stateline Speedway in Busti, New York will feature the RUSH Pro Mods weekly on Saturday nights throughout the 2016 season.

The RUSH Pro Mods will permit the Econo Mods that currently race at several tracks throughout the region to compete in the division for one year.  The complete rules package is now available online at www.rushpromods.com.

A $10,625 Weekly Series point fund had been initially been posted, but throughout the holidays, Series Directors were able to secure additional funding that will boost the RUSH Pro Mod Point Funds to over $15,625 plus numerous product contingency giveaways throughout the season.  The Weekly point fund will mirror and be formatted similar to RUSH's other classes.

The Sweeney RUSH Pro Mod Weekly Series Championship program will now award $15,050 with $3,500 to-win paying down to $300 for 20th for member drivers, along with a $600 "Futures Cup" program.  (Note: membership is only available for drivers competing with a GM 604 or 602 engine package).  As with all RUSH divisions, membership is optional; however membership not only makes drivers eligible for the point funds, but also gives member drivers $100,000 of excess participant accident insurance.  The cost of a membership is $125.

In addition, an inaugural RUSH Pro Mod "Manufacturers Night" will be held at Stateline Speedway on Saturday, July 30 with product contingency giveaways awarded to crate engine competitors in addition to an increased payoff 25-lap feature event.

“The Scott Family and ourselves are very confident that the RUSH Pro Mods will flourish and grow into the future, not only at Stateline but throughout the region” stated RUSH Director Vicki Emig.  “Every RUSH class that now exists had a beginning, but the Pro Mods have a huge advantage over the others due to the strong relationships that we have developed over the years with not only our sanctioned promoters, but with our corporate sponsors, network of exceptional rebuilders, and strong tech department all of which are waiting in the wings to also make the RUSH Pro Mods a success.”

Sweeney RUSH Pro Mod Weekly Series Point Fund ($15,050): 1. $3,500  2. $2,000  3. $1,200  4. $1,000  5. $900  6. $800  7. $700  8. $600  9. $500  10. $400  11. $390  12. $380  13. $370  14. $360  15. $350  16. $340  17. $330  18. $320  19. $310  20. $300.

The Weekly Series Championship is based on drivers best 12 feature points finishes throughout the 2016 season at all RUSH Pro Mod-sanctioned events.  Feature events pay 100 points to win and drop two points down to sixth place followed by a one-point drop for all remaining positions down to a minimum of 71 points.  Non-qualifiers or non-feature starters receive 70 points.  In addition, a car count bonus is added to the feature points for the number of cars signed in up to a maximum of 12.  Thus if there are 12 or more cars on hand, the feature winner receives 112 points; anything less would be the number of cars signed in plus the feature points.  In the event of a tie for the championship, best number of top point scores break the tie.  All other ties for positions remain a tie with drivers splitting point fund monies.

“Futures Cup” ($600): 1. $300  2. $200  3. $100.

The “Futures Cup” point system mirrors the Weekly Series with a possible stand-alone event added to the “best 12 point total”.  Drivers must be a Weekly Series member, not be older than 19 years of age, and not be a prior “Futures Cup” Champion to be eligible for points and point fund monies.  Those 18 & 19 cannot have more than one prior season of E-Mod, Econo Mod or Crate Late Model experience (8 or more events = 1 season).  No headlining division experience permitted.  Those under 16 should verify eligibility to race at each individual track.
